SOMA VINES was founded by Daisy Merrick and Antoine Lucchesi.

Antoine is originally from Marseille, France, and studied oenology at winemaking school in Alsace. After gaining experience at various wineries, including Sekthaus Griesel in Germany and Domaine Brand et Fils in France, he joined forces with SOMA to begin producing his own range of low-intervention wines.

Daisy is originally from Norwich, UK. After several years working in the hospitality industry, she went on to study for the WSET Advanced qualification, which took her to London and New York, where she worked for established wine companies such as Majestic Wine and Chambers Street Wines.

SOMA VINES was initially founded in Berlin in 2018 as an importing and distribution company. Over time, the project evolved into winemaking, with Antoine joining the venture. Their first vintage was produced in 2020.

For the past five years, they made wine in Rheinhessen, Germany, where they rented four hectares of organically farmed vineyards in Eckelsheim. In 2026, they returned the German vineyards and relocated with their young family and entire winery to Dorlisheim, Alsace, France. They now rent two hectares of organically farmed vineyards in Mutzig and Reichsfeld, where they continue their winemaking journey.

In the cellar, they follow a low-intervention approach, working exclusively with spontaneous fermentation and using no fining, filtration or added sulfites.

The labels are designed by Daisy’s sister, Lilly Winter.
