On the 17th of September 2023 we hand picked the Pinot Noir grapes from our selection massale vineyard on the Steigerberg, Rheinhessen. 20 year old vines grown in rhyolite soil, farmed organically.
14 days on the skins. Whole bunches. Semi carbonic maceration. Aged 10 months in old 225l oak barrels. No added sulfites. Spontaneous fermentation.
Sourced from a small vineyard with a low-yield harvest, this wine offers a beautifully concentrated profile. On the palate, rich notes of blackcurrant and plum are complemented by delicate hints of spice. The wine has a light to medium body, balanced gracefully with refreshing acidity.
You can enjoy this wine now or leave it a few more years.
