Alexis Hudon
Bourges, Loire
50% Gamay 50% Gamay Teinturier - 13.5% abv
Groseille is made from 50% Gamay and 50% Gamay Teinturier grapes. Selected from 4 different parcels of vineyards with limestone and flint stone soil in the region of Touraine, Loire Valley.
Alexis used a short maceration of 2 weeks in a fibreglass vat. 1/4 whole bunches and 3/4 directly pressed grapes were combined like an infusion. Little filtration and minimal sulphites give pure flavours and dense texture.
Vibrant, fresh, red fruit flavours. Light/medium bodied on the palate depending on whether you chill the wine or not. Great flowing acidity with an energetic finish.
Another great wine from Monsieur Hudon.
Pair this wine with roast chicken and herbs de Provence, duck with plum sauce, aubergine tagine, and an era of cheeses.
