Domaine de la Bergerie

The Domaine de La Bergerie, a 36-hectare vineyard situated on the schistous bedrock of Anjou Noir, owned by the Guégniard family.

In 1961, Mary Scholastica (Yves's grandmother), a woman of strong character and winemaker on her own estate, acquired La Bergerie before passing it on a few years later to her daughter, Marie-Agnès and her son-in-law Bernard. The family winery grew larger as their son Yves and his wife Marie-Annick joined forces. The vineyard continued to develop on great terroirs such as Savennières, Quarts de Chaume and Coteaux du Layon.

In 2010, Anne joined her parents. Thus, the family tradition continues and the eighth generation is installed.

This new generation of women brought a different perspective to the work carried out in the vineyard and in the cellar. A certified organic agriculture (certified since 2016) was adopted and the vinification is done in parcels in order to obtain a precise translation of the terroir.
