(From 2 different vintages)
This is a very special wine and I'll tell you why. It is made from Riesling that comes from the same vineyard plot, but grapes that were harvested in 2015 and also in 2017. It was extremely hot in Alsace in 2015 and this caused the grapes to over-ripen, which left Philippe with a difficult task of turning the grapes into wine that people would enjoy. Then 2017 happened and it was much cooler. He decided to blend the 2 vintages together and it ended up evolving into this petrol nosed, medium-bodied, kiwi and rich honey melon wine, that is so beautifully balanced with acidity and the finish just keeps going and going, leaving you thirsty for more.
I would say that this wine is great for people who like a traditional Riesling, made naturally and with an exciting edge to it.
