On the 26th of September 2023, we picked the Chardonnay from Weingut Nägele in Baden. 40 year old vines on clay and calcareous soil, farmed organically.

Directly pressed. Aged 8 months in old oak barrels. Not disgorged. Unfiltered. Unfined. No added sulfites. Spontaneous fermentation.

As we did not disgorge this wine it means the yeast particles are still inside the bottle. This will not harm you, but your wine may look a little cloudy. It's best to keep the bottle standing up straight before serving.

Subtle bubbles, creamy mouthfeel, notes of baked apple shine through, complemented by a lively medium-high acidity. Very enjoyable.
