100% Pinot Noir - 11.5% abv
The ‘Atlas’ is their Pinot Noir selection harvested from the top part of their vineyard planted in 1999. All Demeter-certified biodynamic.
The 2018 vintage was quite warm, sometimes tropical and wet with early ripening, so the harvest already started on 23rd of August.
Fermented, 50% whole-clusters, 50% combined semi-carbonic techniques with 1/3 stem parts. During the fermentation they used only their hands and feet for punching down the grapes. 10 days skin maceration and then transferred to a 2500 litre old wooden cask to age for one year.
Bottled without fining, filtration and no added sulfur.
This is a Pinot Noir that resembles an elegant red wine from Burgundy. With classic redcurrant fruits and black cherries, cedar and waves of acidity. This is a wine that has power without weight. An instrument of seduction.
